Premium vinyl wallpaper, printed to your wall
Premium Vinyl is our most popular finish and the one we recommend when nothing about the wall is unusual. It is a durable, wipeable matt surface that suits almost any room in a Thai home, it goes up with paste, and it is what most of our Bangkok customers settle on once they have felt a sample against their own wall.
What it is
A paste-up wallcovering with a matt face, printed to the exact width and height of your wall in centimetres rather than sold as a repeating roll. Matt matters in a room with a lot of glass: a shiny surface throws window reflections back at you and breaks the picture up, while a matt one holds its colour from every angle. The surface is wipeable, so fingerprints along a hallway or above a sofa come away with a damp cloth and a little mild soap.
Which walls it suits
Living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, offices, and any wall you expect to keep. Because the adhesive goes onto the wall rather than being built into the material, it is more forgiving of a surface that is not perfectly flat than the peel-and-stick finishes are, and it lasts longer. It is also one of the two finishes we point at humid rooms: air conditioning that cycles on and off creates condensation, and condensation is what lifts self-adhesive edges over time. Existing wallpaper has to come off first, whatever finish you choose.
Living with it
Dust it with a dry cloth and take marks off with a damp one and a little mild soap. Nothing abrasive, no scouring pads, no solvent cleaners. On a sound, dry, well-prepared wall it will look right for years indoors; what ages any printed colour is hours of strong direct sun, so a wall that takes the full afternoon will fade sooner than one that does not. Taking a paste-up mural down later is a proper job rather than a peel, which is the trade for how long it stays put.
